i cannot personally ever relate on any level at all to someone who considers mario kart ds a baseline good entry in the series
like i genuinely think even the snes granddaddy one is better. ds one fucking sucks
@IvanDSM the SNES one is really unrefined but damn the drift is real bad on the DS one. SNES is better by not having drift boosting in the first place, imo
@mavica_again If I underetand "drift boosting" correctly, that thought disturbs me. What's your favourite Mario Kart game? I want to try one earnestly sometime but I'm lost on which to go for.
@IvanDSM none of them actually! but at least on wii and switch the drift boosting did not feel miserable. i don't remember how it was on the 64
@mavica_again Hmm, fair enough. I guess I'll try the Wii one(s?) sometime, though I'll probably stick to my beloved F-Zero :)
@mavica_again Hell yeah! I got it at some point back when I was a kid on a bootleg cartridge that eventually screwed up my SNES but god damn did it blow my mind. Such smooth controls, great music, beautiful graphics...
@mavica_again I haven't played Mario Kart DS but god, the SNES Super Mario Kart is legitimately one of the worst racing games I've ever played when it comes to handling. Is that like an unpopular opinion or is it agreed on?
