i want tiny handheld computers
@mavica_again in Japan you can still buy electronic pocket dictionaries, I have seen them sold at electronic retailers as recently as last year. I guess Japanese people like to have dedicated devices for that even now that we have smartphones.
But anyway, these to me are the ideal pocket computers. If I could figure out a way to “root” these devices to install Linux or FreeBSD onto them, I would probably buy one and take it with me to read and to do blogging while I am traveling since the battery life on these things is much longer than a laptop, and a bit more than a cell phone.
I did actually buy one like 10 years ago while in Japan because they actually sold one with Ubuntu. Unfortunately, it doesn’t boot anymore and I don’t know why. I am going to have to fix it up and get it running again one of these days.
