The folks at Happy Trails decided to announce their 2026 registrations NOT on their site, NOT via the email newsletter I signed up for ages ago, but in an Instagram post that basically says "registration is open! No links! Just Google for 'name of race you want' + 2026 to find the Race Roster page!"
@mavica_again They can sell out their shit in under a week without promoting their races anywhere other than the Meta slop conveyor belt. In the short term what they're learning is they don't need to communicate anywhere else. In the long term they'll learn that such an approach nets you a runner base comprised of the kind of people who use Instagram compulsively, which is to say: brain-fried oafs with no interior world
