@hazel @mavica_again forever thinking about Wikipedia's opener on Power Kai's entry
"Kai Krause (born 14 March 1957) is a German software and graphical user interface designer, best known for founding MetaCreations Corp., for his Kai's Power Tools series of products, and for his contributions to graphical user interface design.[1]"
@hazel @mavica_again his. Contributions
@outie @mavica_again they aren't wrong
@hazel @mavica_again also a reminder that Krause was good pals with Douglas Adams which is a nugget of knowledge that warms my heart
@outie @mavica_again calling him Krause just feels wrong. it's like saying 'I Got You Babe' was sung by Bono & Sarkisian
@hazel @mavica_again a fun apocryphal Power Kai story I've been told is that supposedly he rocked up to Adobe's booth at a German computer trade show and tried out the new PowerPC optimised version of Photoshop on one of the new Power Macs they had there
and then loudly complained, with a bunch of journalists in earshot, that if a graphics editor can't rotate an image in real time on this kind of hardware the developers are doing it wrong
@mavica_again i had Power Goo!! me and my brother wanted to do claymation so our dad took us to PC World and we asked for animation software and the guy at the shop sold us Power Goo. it was absolutely not animation software and we were very disappointed. but it was kinda fun to play with
