@mona thanks! This time I tried throwing some milk in there. It seems to make the crust chewier and the bread more "hearty" tasting if that's a thing.

@upside oh that's quite credible to me! the milk adds a bit more protein and sugar, promotes browning reactions generating colour and flavour...I don't doubt that it enriched the taste of your bread. Well done! *tailswishes, and awards a Pearl Point*

I'm rather fond of making bread myself although have not considered doing so lately because of the heat wave here >_>
