the latest web standards make it so that you can prevent a page from playing media unless the user explicitly clicks on something
so, YouTube can't autoplay videos when you open them
but
they can autoplay them when you click on new videos from the same page, since they just load everything dynamically and modify the address bar instead
which, fuck them, maybe I don't want to immediately watch a video and actually just wanted to get the page ready so I can watch later

@clarfonthey this and the fact that you have so little controll over how it remembers how far you've watched are my two main problems with YT
I want to be able to mark videos as unwatched
