When I head back to the UK in December I'm planning to do a bunch of rail related things in London.

One thing I'm pondering is the ‘DLR Challenge’, which is visit all 45 DLR stations in the fastest time. (There is an actual Guiness Record for all Tube/LUL stations in the fastest time, but there are other unofficial fun things people do, like this)

Record is 1h53m53s, and I think that - if I could make all the cross platform changes (when arr/dep times are the same) that I could get close.

At least, I plotted out a route using current timetables that, assuming every connection is made, takes 1h54.

Right now, this is just idle planning/thought experiment, but it could be fun to actually try it and get my name up on the site.

@kootenay Good luck! Always thought about doing something like that myself but never find the time ^^;

@renbymon You should try!

As for me, I've been on a bit of a UK rail nostalgia kick of late. If I were still living in the UK, I could perhaps see myself doing a lot more rail related adventures than I can possibly do here.

@kootenay I keep thinking about it! I'd definitely like to go ride the oldest stock of trains currently on the underground before they get replaced. :)

@renbymon Ah, I thought you meant the actual oldest (Bakerloo with 1972 stock).
Piccadilly has 1973 stock, so slightly newer :>

However, the ’73 stock is going to be replaced before the ‘72s - estimated 2025.

@kootenay Two years for me to get to London and spend a weekend on those lines then ^^
