Was misgendered this morning in a high street shop (the shop assistant called me "sir"), which wasn't a nice thing, but I didn't raise it because I don't feel like I'm presenting?

I didn't say anything and just left the shop after paying.

However a couple of minutes later it did occur to me that I've never liked being called sir, and my brain finally put two and two together "yes of course you don't because you're a girl!"

I swear my brain just misses the most obvious things, lol.

@renbymon Amusingly, one of the kids I work with calls me "miss". I've never bothered to "correct" him as it does feel good. XD

Hmm, I've never liked "sir" either, and especially not being referred to as a "man". But "miss", "ma'am", "woman" or "lady" would be much much worse for me. So… possibly not as binary as I had assumed? Interesting.
