Going to visit my Dad this weekend to tell him that I'm trans and that I'm going to be changing my name.
Then on Monday I'm submitting all the paper work to change my name. 💜🏳️⚧️
I've been thinking a lot about changing my surname too as I really don't like my current one and I don't feel any attachment to it.
I've thought about something Nordic/Viking, as that is part of my cultural heritage (growing up in the part of Britain that was Danelaw centuries ago) but ugh the way that the right has co-opted a lot of Norse stuff is making me conflicted.
@renbymon *hugs* It's awful when the worst people on Earth co-opt something that should mean more to you.
I'd say only go ahead when you have absolutely no doubts.
@renbymon At some level I think just about everything has been co-opted... it really does suck. But I'm sure you'll find something that suits :)
