Not impressed with my council as the unenrolled deed poll that I sent them is, according to them, not "official".
The UK doesn't have "official" deed polls: deed polls are just signed affidavits and you don't need to do anything other than have it written in a specific way and be signed by two witnesses.
There are Enrolled deed polls but those aren't "more legal" than unenrolled ones. My deed poll was legal and official the second we (witnesses and I) signed it.
@renbymon I got real pissed off with my uni as they did the same thing.
I went to a random solicitors and asked them to stamp it to make it "official". Took it happily after that.
@jihyn I'm really hoping that I don't have to do that; I don't have the time to go out and do that because the council isn't following the law. X)
