Me yesterday: Why does my ThinkPad keep powering down randomly?
Me today when I took it apart and saw the thermal paste had dried out: Ahhhhh.

Unfortunately replacing the thermal paste didn't solve the issue and it still turns itself off after 20 minutes (the power dies and doesn't come back until after five minutes or so).
I'm out of ideas at the moment so this is likely just gonna be a spares laptop.
@renbymon Can you get voice control of the reboot command?
Have you considered explaining the situation really quickly, using short sentence fragments?
