People are already making "APOLOGISE TO BLOOBER TEAM" posts due to the critical raving the Silent Hill 2 remake is getting.
Look, I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I'm not gonna take the word of the big media outlets for granted, given the original's not as likely to be as fresh in their memory as it is for me. I'd rather trust the word of someone who's played the original recently and can more easily see how Bloober cover the themes the game covers.
@Bowsette Punchy (who plays the original game a LOT) put it this way: "It's fun but it's not Silent Hill 2; It's a different game and story with the same name as the original."
Also the PC version suuuuuuuucks right now; it has some kinda memory leak that kills the frame rate after a couple of hours.
