I am looking for arguments! Boost welcomed. For #accessibility I added sound settings to a project, in which you can adjust sound and music separately. Now I am told it should be removed and players don't need it, they can control the volume at their device and turn all sounds off when they don't like it. I think its doing the players a disservice, but am lacking proper arguments besides being pissed.

@JohannaMakesGames I have an auditory issue where SFX is often hidden/masked by the music at the default levels. Often times I need to make the music quieter to be able to properly hear the SFX and that impacts my game experience, especially if the SFX is part of the game feedback.

@renbymon @JohannaMakesGames Yeah, some neurodivergent players can be easily overwhelmed by a poor audio mix.

Beyond that, this is a quality of life feature that can benefit all players - it can make it easier to tell when hit, it can inform about collectibles that have a sound hint when close (Crackdown's orbs, PokΓ©mon Legends Arceus's shiny jingle), and there's things like muting licensed music if no streamer mode.
