pet peeve of mine is when a USian recipe calls for "cups" of something

What kind of cup? A? B? C? D? E? F??

@nightjar @PsyChuan So remembering what my US partner told me; it doesn't matter unless you use the same cup for everything in the recipe.

But also "cups" have standardised to some extent, so if you search for measure cups you'll find most using 250ml as "one cup"

@renbymon ah so that's pretty close then to US cup sizes 32A, 30B, and 28C, which yields a volume of 240 cm³ / 240 ml per cup
