I do have mixed feelings about this plan.

Primarily, it's due to Family stuff. Parents aging with issues that come along with that, and nephew/nieces wanting to know their uncle.

Yes, I know the UK probably has more negative issues than Canada going for it right now.

But still, I think that this is the move that I need to make right now.

I've been in N.America for over 28 years now - more than 1/2 my life.

Yet as much as being here has done me well career-wise, my social life dropped after I moved away from California in 2003.

Sure, I've got a couple of good friends around here, I have been feeling more isolated over the past decade or so.

I'm not sure how I'll do in the 'good friend' level in the UK, as there's none in the immediate close area to where I'll be, but will also be < 1 hr from London.

Another side of the coin is that I've been watching more YouTube vids relating to stuff like rail travel in the UK, and thinking more of "Wish I could do that".

Such travel around here is pretty limited. So I hope to get back into that. (I did stuff like that in my mid-teens in the UK)

I also know that the US style Renaissance Faires are not much of a thing in the UK, but I do still hope to find things there where I can bring out characters like Athra the Khajiit and have him fit in. I know Europe has some, so not ruling out travel to the continent too.

Certainly, I've changed a lot since I left, and the UK has also changed a lot too. I'm just hopeful that I'll be able to find stuff to keep me more occupied and out-and-about there than I have done here.
