Realising that one of the reasons I stopped being a werewolf were mostly due to internalised transphobia has been a big revelation for me.

(The other reason was due to a pretty toxic person, here in the UK, that I am thankfully no longer in contact with)

I'm a trans werewolf woman and I am proud!! 💜🐺🌕🏳️‍⚧️ΘΔ

Oh hey also did you know that I have a werewolf suit but I haven't worn it for years primarily because of the aforementioned self-hate?

Well now that I'm feeling a lot better about myself I'm gonna share some photos in the next few toots. Just a heads up now because the posts will be CW'd due to eye-contact. c:

Media marked sensitive due to eye contact.

This is my old werewolf suit, from when I was using my cis moniker "Graafen". At the time I was still under the impression that I was male, and when I started feeling bad about my trans thoughts I denied myself the feeling good about a lot of things, which included this.

These were very good times!! 💜

@avon_deer Apologies; the term "internalised transphobia" means your own personal transphobia against yourself.

I stopped being a werewolf because of my own prejudices, self-hate, belief that the womanly feelings that I had were wrong, and because that's entwined with/part of my werewolf feelings I had convinced myself that I wasn't who I was.

Basically Section 28 destroyed my ability to be myself for over two decades.

@renbymon Oh I see now. I am glad you've been able to get past that.

@avon_deer thank you <3

Honestly without the visibility of other trans girls I don't think I would have realised it and probably would have continued the self-hate and denial.

If Section 28 hadn't been a thing and I'd actually had some education in school then I would have been pursuing my transition a lot earlier; like in the early 2000s.

In hindsight I'm pretty sure that someone, who we both know, knew back then that I'm trans.
