I'd watched that amateur documentary about the D.A.R.E program and Daryl Gates' need for control and paranoia causing the creation and his own downfall, but it either was not mentioned in the documentary (or I missed it) that he'd also created SWAT. Man, wild fucking single power hungry asshole in LA causing a national problem (and wider too I imagine).
