Tech musings, MacBook Neo

Little personal thought on the MacBook Neo.

If you're reading this, it's probably not for you, it's certainly not for me.

If you would like a nice, sleek, lightweight computer *and Linux is your preference*, consider a ThinkPad X1 Carbon or Dell XPS 13. If macOS is your thing and you feel the Neo is limiting, go for an Air.

I had a 12" MacBook and really, really loved the thing in the time I had it. It'll suit someone who needs little more than an iPad, but a rich OS.

@LightTheUnicorn I keep thinking about getting an X1 Carbon

@renbymon Ah, sweet! Haven't personally owned one (I'm in lightly used XPS camp!) but they're very nice machines.

I'm well aware of the relative lack of upgrade options on the XPS, but thin profile, solid construction and super-importantly low weight were absolute top priorities over performance for my personal laptop. It sits on my back far too much to have a heavy machine!

@LightTheUnicorn I'm running an HP Elitebook right now and it's bloody heavy x)

@renbymon Aw no!

Elitebook's are great too, but you definitely notice that extra weight!!
