You are correct, but I was trying to refine it by saying it is more correct to say "people who have been hurt by formal power structures are likely to appose formal structures" instead of saying "unprivileged people tend to appose formal power structure". and I was trying to use myself as an example of someone who was hurt by informal power structures. I may have been unnecessarily confusing, or berried my point in too many hedges.
