ugh why can't we have 24/7 electronic components shops

the components i replaced didn't help

there are two resistors that seem bad but it's a pair i forgot to buy

:(

so what's happening on the monitor, is

the psu is supposed to output +5 +15 +115 and -15 volts

the -15 line is outputting anywhere from -17 to -20, seems like it goes down to -20 under load

which would make sense then for the picture to be good for a few seconds when it powers on but degrades after that

can't really pinpoint what's causing that though.. i only have 2 resistors left to swap on the list i made for the -15 line

and it's the ones i forgot to buy

so now i have to go alllll the way back downtown to the electronics components shops ....

for 2 resistors

220k 1/2W

bleh.

@squirrel dude, right?! I want to buy a SAS controller at 2 AM.

@squirrel That'd be super useful

Although it's probably just as well they don't exist 'cause I'd just end up making a little nest in one and living there amongst the components

@squirrel don't sweat it pal, you woulda had this same bad surprise some other time if not now

just out of curiosity.... how bad would it be to try running it with 220k not rated for the full 1/2W?

@bea the resistor would probably burn up

i don't have the required one either way

@bea er required resistance regardless of power rating i mean
