my brain is awful, when i was at school they were teaching us to factorize polynomials in the form (x - a)(x + b) or whatever, and everybody in the class could do them in about 10 seconds, whereas the only way i could do it was just to try every possible combination. i kept asking the teacher what the secret was. how come all the other kids were so fast? he couldnt explain it. nor could they. they just 'knew' what number would fit. that's when i stopped being interested in math
