K. So first off I'm using "maker space" as a kind of shorthand for a thing that is only tangentially a makerspace.

It's more of a Maker collective and a co-working space bolted on a retail store?

It's like this: in the back there are tables and equipment. People can pay a monthly fee to have access to the tables and a larger monthly fee to have access to the equipment. (I'll explain in a minute)

Up front, there's a retail space that sells etsy-stuff (vintage and handmade)

Not actually things from etsy.

Just, etsy also allows vintage and handmade.

Except not all vintage.

Actually, forget the etsy metaphor unless you find it useful.

Up front we sell new and vintage vinyl LPs, new comic books, new and vintage books, CDs and cassettes and LPs from local artists, and stuff made on site (by members of the maker space) including reprints of vintage comics and books.

I'm still not explaining this well.

In the back is a quasi-traditional makerspace, with a focus on equipment that can be used to produce goods. (3D printers, traditional printers, large format printers, CD duplicators, etc. etc. etc.)

You wanna make something? Hell yeah! You wanna mass produce and sell it? Cool! We'll consign the stuff up front, if you'll cover the cost of materials, or we'll make them on demand if you don't wanna cover the cost of materials.
