ordered new ram for the thinkpad and the laptop i use as my minecraft server :3 buying online ended up cheaper than the places downtown, less than the price of 1 stick for both, so hooray
as for the rest of the project i wanted to do today (RGB outputs from my TecToy Master System), I think the chinese-sourced ICs I got for the transcoder (Sony CXA1145p) are fake (they seem sanded and then re-etched, both have the same identical code at the bottom) so i might need to get more parts for that (if I only need RGB out I can do a simple transistor amplifier or find another TV signal booster IC without having to worry about the transcoding part)
