so more on the motherboard saga:

they finally emailed me confirming it's bad and the store refunded me in store credit

... which will only clear in about 3 days and THEN i'll be able to buy a new motherboard

oy.

but at least after a month of hiatus i should be able to do squirrel-chan's fuck-up hour again next week...
