nautilus-dropbox won't install because it needs dropbox but it won't be installed but dropbox is already installed

someone who is good at the package manager please help me. my family is dying

@squirrel I exclusively use apt in cli, the graphical package managers drive me nuts

@squirrel Okay cool what do you need help with? :D (disclaimer, I use debian, but they use the same package system)

@squirrel (I can read, I promise.)

The first thing I would try is doing both at once, so

apt install dropbox nautilus-dropbox

That SHOULD work, unless dropbox is a broken install, in which case apt remove dropbox first and then trying the above should do it.

@squirrel If it won't let you remove it and reinstall it, you can stick -f in your install to force it to install

apt install -f dropbox nautilus-dropbox

@InspectorCaracal no it does

apparently dropbox and nautilus-dropbox are incompatible as of right now under xubuntu 16.04.3
