i can't believe we still need to autocomplete emojos, that mastodon can't just parse the full shorthand
@squirrel so this was an Actual Conscious Decision.
They changed it to work this way in 2.0 on purpose, to, like, play nicely with ipv6?? Except that it's completely inconsistent with how custom emoji work, which DO just parse the full shorthand and which would completely fuck up the ipv6 as well so I don't even know.
@InspectorCaracal i thought that was the thing that they couldn't stick them together because :shorthand::shorthand: ?? ahh fuck if i know
nobody in my instance is going to type ipv6 anyway i don't think 😑
