@squirrel I have a couple of X6* thinkpads as well and I looooove the keyboards on them but..... the toshiba sounds even better

@tom its very chunky

sadly the rest of the laptop feels flimsier than the thinkpad

also its very heavy

it has an internal psu !!! you don't use a brick you just, ,,,,, literally plug a power cord right onto the back

@squirrel okay but the internal psu thing is weird enough to make it a device worth having again tbh

@tom it's super worth having even despite that

its got opl3 so its a perfect adlib tracker machine

@squirrel oh that's sick! I'm still on the lookout for a good DOS/Early Windows-Era (Sub)notebook that won't cost me an arm and a leg...

@tom toshiba satellites might just be that!! idk how availability is for you there on them

this one i got for free as a birthday gift from a friend who knew im into old computers

@squirrel I've seen a couple floating around on local auction sites, yeah! I almost caved in once but the seller vanished

@tom awww

also make sure to get a tft model instead of tn model

tn panels are blurry as hell

the 420cdt (my model) has tft, it's much better

@squirrel one of the coolest old computer things I've stumbled upon so far (besides that osborne 1 which I'm still beating myself up over not getting) is this:

@tom haha yeah nah its not worth that much, not in that state

@squirrel I like putting things like that on my watchlist tho bc people usually realize that what they're asking for is just fucked up lol

@tom thats a good strategy !!! i didn''t think about that

@squirrel it often ends up in expired listings and broken hearts but i can still dream
