Britain’s £31 billion next-gen nuclear missiles at risk of delay due to faulty US welding
The story isn't really that important by itself.
Despite what trumpy whinges about endlessly, why does the uk need a £49 billion military budget for all its enemies? You what?
$90.1 billion canadian dollars? Wow! Who is the uk at war with or in danger from this much?
The usa simply wants nato to prop up its hegemony and defacto colonialism. and sell arms i guess. https://www.rt.com/uk/435441-nuclear-missiles-welding-defect/?utm_source=rss&utm_medium=rss&utm_campaign=RSS
@gemlog oh, that article's title is wrong, it isn't the missiles, it's the subs that carry the missiles that are meant to replace the current Vanguard class
The Royal Navy is still using the same Trident missiles they've been using since the early 90s
@troubleMoney But what/which force influences these silly decisions?
@gemlog politicians wanting to wave a big stick around for the most part
@troubleMoney I think that's the ultimate manipulation, yes, but there's a step beyond that, which precedes it. Sometimes two steps or so.
The proximate cause of the behaviour of many of our politicians lies beyond our borders.
I don't think it's usually political actors, but corporate actors (or those controlling political actors).
@troubleMoney THAT is the more likely reasoning I'm afraid.
