@maloki
I've got land and a desire to farm it, just not the ability currently due to unemployment and the requirement for capital in our existing society. BTW, I think maybe the point has been missed that we're not necessarily trying to replace capitalism with another centralized economy, but rather with decentralized self organizing networking.
@FASA_Andrew_1879 @maloki in terms of getting republicans to have any interest at all modelling it on an allotment-type system might get somewhere
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allotment_(gardening)
they'd go in for the concept of "oh yeah, I'll grow food for me" and then when they end up with two tonnes of radishes they'll probably be okay with the idea of sharing it around
gives them a way to ease into the whole idea
not ideal by any means but hey, work with what you've got
@FASA_Andrew_1879 @maloki ah, yeah, not much call for allotments if everyone has a bunch of land spare
@troubleMoney
Sadly, that probably won't work. I'm in a rural area, and the Republicans all have enough land they can have a backyard garden if they want to. Rural areas don't have HOAs or intrusive local councils to tell you that you can't grow your own food on your own land. Thus, no need for allotments. What I need are people looking to build a functional, self supporting (at least to some extent) community based on socialist and consensus ideas.
