@maloki
I've got land and a desire to farm it, just not the ability currently due to unemployment and the requirement for capital in our existing society. BTW, I think maybe the point has been missed that we're not necessarily trying to replace capitalism with another centralized economy, but rather with decentralized self organizing networking.
@maloki
I've got 22 acres, part of which is under a conservation easement and legally cannot be developed, in the Hudson Valley of New York state. The area is heavily Republican and I have not found anyone locally who wants to put in the work. The few leftists I've met are old white Green party types who are busy fighting pipeline and power plant construction.
@FASA_Andrew_1879 @maloki in terms of getting republicans to have any interest at all modelling it on an allotment-type system might get somewhere
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Allotment_(gardening)
they'd go in for the concept of "oh yeah, I'll grow food for me" and then when they end up with two tonnes of radishes they'll probably be okay with the idea of sharing it around
gives them a way to ease into the whole idea
not ideal by any means but hey, work with what you've got
@FASA_Andrew_1879 @maloki ah, yeah, not much call for allotments if everyone has a bunch of land spare
