A better way to rebadge an open source project for branding reasons is to put "powered by [project]" in the logo

So purism's social client would be "Librem Social, powered by Tusky"

We wouldn't yell at them (as much) for that

@troubleMoney I honestly don't get why they need to rebrand it at all, it seems fundamentally opposed to the concepts of being inherently open source

@troubleMoney I guess it's an attempt to get an in with demographics who have been trained to expect a silo'd project and don't trust things that aren't Brand Name™️ but at the same time....

@InspectorCaracal I can see a reason if they want to make it a coherent "here's a pack of all the stuff and it's all themed to work similar to each other so less tech-savvy users don't get confused"

Like all the "send/toot/post" buttons look the same and are in the same sort of places
