Me: I make some Pride handwarmers, here’s the ones I’ve got in stock.

French lesbians: putain no lesbian flag

Me: I order in yarn for new flag designs when they’re requested by customers, so I know the handwarmers will sell. Do you want to buy some?

French lesbians: mdr no

Je pense qu’elles m’ont cancellé·e. C’est fin. Je suis cancellé·e.

😢

Maybe I should explain.

I would love to make lesbian flag handwarmers.

No one has ever requested them in 5 years of me making Pride flag handwarmers, but I’d be very happy to buy in the yarn if it looks like they’d sell.

There’s like 5 different lesbian flags though.

So all I can do is wait for someone to fill in this form: docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAI

Ideally a few someones, because most people who request handwarmers don’t claim them once I’ve made them.

BUT LOOK. There is no way I am spending money on yarn for handwarmers that y’all don’t want to buy. I am BROKE. So many people have jumped into my mentions in the past few days to complain about the lack of lesbian flag, and when I ask if they want to buy some they all say no???

Did you know that the most popular lesbian flag (which is widely considered problematic) has SIX different shades of pink in it?

One ball of yarn in the right colour costs £5. That's £30 for six balls of yarn for one pair of handwarmers that might never sell.

(Do they think that I somehow have every shade of 4-ply 80%-wool yarn that exists, already in my house? XD)

@cassolotl considering some of the knitters I know that doesn't seem a completely ridiculous assumption
