I'm surprised nobody's tried to wrap their heads around the science behind why vampires can't be reflected in a mirror.
I mean, it can't be just straight up light-bending because then nobody could see them. 
@noelle Yeah, that's been other people's answer since I posted this, but now that just makes it odd because people carried the trope into the modern day, where mirrors generally aren't made using silver anymore.
