i don't want to know why anyone would eat microscopic critter fossils but i do want to know approximately how many nooks and crannies of my house i can sprinkle with them from a 1L canister

@noelle yeah <.< like, DE is pretty darn safe to work with but like. why would you ever want to *intentionally consume* it? ??? it's... it's just silica. what nutritional benefit is this gonna have.

honestly I doubt it's structurally intact enough by the time it gets past your stomach acid to do much of anything at all, good or bad, but :blobshrug:

@InspectorCaracal @noelle I thought like, food safe so if you're using it in areas where you're doing food prep then it's fine

but nope, there's a picture of someone straight up drinking it

@troubleMoney @noelle it does in fact mean "safe for consumption" but the initial intent is, I think, like, putting it in your grain and stuff so that bugs can't set up shop

@troubleMoney @noelle like mix a spoon of it into a big old bag of rice and voila, pest control achieved

@troubleMoney @noelle people straight up eating it as a "supplement" is just health food marketing doing it's... thing.

anyway i'll give them their mark-up of my money for the convenient shaker bottle, that's worth it to me.
