@tom tbh this really reinforces my decision to stop putting all my eggs in the mac basket. like idk, maybe someday apple will manufacture a computer i want to buy again, but part of the appeal for me was just like... being able to easily migrate to a new mac. a sense of stability, same computer with better specs, running the software i already used/paid for. without that there's a way lower barrier to migrating to something else
