I need to know your favorite ebook creator.
Traditionally, I've just used Calibre. Now I want to do something a little more involved.
I'm tempted to use iBooks Author, because it looks pretty and easy to use. I don't have a mac laptop, though, just a desktop.
Do you have any experience with iBooks Author?
Do you know of a workable alternative?

@troubleMoney It's part of the epub 3 standard.
That's why I'm looking at ibooks Author from apple, but I really don't like using Apple's software when I can avoid it.
@troubleMoney I'm trying to make epubs with embedded media (photos, audio, video).
Pandoc is great for doing stuff in batches, but I'm looking for something a little more wysiwyg.
