okay about to iron these hand-painted acrylic paint patches, to keep the paint from coming off in the rain or whatevs

what heat setting should I use?

(also i've literally never used an iron before lol)

@vantablack iirc (I probably don't) medium heat, no steam, do it from the back or with a bit of scrap cloth between the painted bit and the iron

@troubleMoney infinite thanks!!! :D :D :D

if I wanna do no steam, that means don't fill the iron with water, right?

@vantablack there should be a dial on there, probably looks like it goes between something like a little cloud and a big cloud, you want it all the way to the little cloud

No need to empty it, just set the dial and you should be fine

@troubleMoney thank you!!!!!!!!!!!! do I need an entirely flat surface to iron? or will a desk iron on top of my bed work?

Follow

@vantablack wow, you've really never ironed before have you :blobgrin:

An ironing board would be ideal, but just about any flat surface should do in a pinch, just make sure it won't be damaged by heat

@troubleMoney I do have an ironing board lol, but it's a small one with really short legs made to be put on top of a desk

@vantablack oh yeah, that'll do fine

It's the fact that it's flat is important, it doesn't matter if it's level or not
