the best fantasy art imo is fantasy art showing completely mundane little daily life scenes that are completely recognizable yet in some integral way Different and Fantastic

@InspectorCaracal BIG BIG AGREE

but i'm also a bit strange in that i consider the One World Building Question that you will Ever Need is "what does a day's worth of food look like for the lower, middle, and upper classes?"

@wigglytuffitout well that depends on how much detail you mean that question to be answered in

Follow

@InspectorCaracal i usually go with Excruciating

because honestly then you get not only cultural habits, but economy, landscape (as it informs agriculture), politics (what's rare because it's from enemy lines? what's cuisine that's fashionable because it's considered the 'tastemaker'? is there cuisine that used to be fashionable but now is not because of shifted political influences?), etc., etc...

honestly it's the root that you can go to just about everything else from, lol

@wigglytuffitout yeah xD

although I would argue there is a fundamental flaw in the question and that is the assumption that the society has a three-tier economic caste system 8o
