So I hadn’t played #elitedangerous since before Odyssey came out, but I’ve been thinking about it a lot the last month or so.
Was messing around with MW5 mods yesterday and tried out a VR one, and I tell ya, looking around that cockpit gave me FEELS.
So now I’ve had to patch the client and poke around the new menus and things. Can’t wait to actually take to the stars again. 🤩🌌
@AbuhRae it's still one of the best games and advocates for VR but performance in Odyssey isn't the best on planetary surface missions and walking around isn't in VR at all.
Many switch between Horizons and Odyssey to do different things now.
@tdp i don’t actually have odyssey yet, and I’m on the fence about getting it at all since everything I love about it involves the VR side of things.
I am curious about running around on foot though, so I’ll keep an eye out for a sale or somethin.
@AbuhRae I have three monitors at the moment as a wraparound replacement for VR, it's not the same by any stretch but I love being able to see where my keyboard and hotas are when flying around.
Being able to explore on foot is cool, the FPS stuff is clunky though.
The recent Thargoid invasion storyline has picked up a lot in terms of content, will be interesting to see where FDev take it overall.

@tdp I had everything mapped out to the HOTAS with I think a single exception for something I mapped to spacebar. It was a science to never have to come out, now with the new star map it’ll be even easier 🤩
Flying in VR in this game ruined basically all space flight games that aren’t VR. And, honestly I can’t decide if I love it or hate it for that 🤣
