@Jookia aw thanks :=3 also thanks for your advice!
@Jookia sorry
@Jookia you don't measure worth, is my answer ;=3
@packbat see ya
@melaninpony I think they prefer "Ha-Shaitan" as an appellation but don't quote me on that
plain talk
@Jookia I figure, everyone who does these "community projects", they're still working in a culture shaped by capitalism and commercial pressures
it's not just about money. people still act like capitalists, it's just that they choose something else to measure a person's value with. something "objective", like "how many lines of code have you written"
can't get away from capitalism THAT easily
@Jookia see that's the thing, it's about branding. it's a capitalist thing isn't it. you've grabbed a market share and you don't wanna risk losing it even though really you've kinda broken faith with what you promised to deliver
@Jookia also what the heck if you really think you've gone off the rails with a standard library so badly that you need to break compatibility just...name it something else
why pretend that you're continuing a thing when really you aren't
@Jookia I've always liked the Xfce desktop more. erf...
@Jookia huh. did gtk pull some python shit, and break compatibility with themselves
@maple I have to admit, never heard of it
@Jookia eh, irrelevant now, was easier to start over from scratch ;=3 in Xubuntu now
@Jookia that actually failed. wouldn't show up as a login option
