Is it like not the done thing to refer to the natives of the north and central Americas as "Indians"? I legit don't know, I am not American.

@klendool The reason this is seen in Social Justice circles as a Not Done thing is because referring to Native Americans as Indians dates back to An incompetent navigator by the name of Christopher Columbus (or maybe someone else, I'm not entirely sure) Mistaking North America for India, and thus assuming the people who live here were Indian. Basically, referring to Native Americans as Indians is sort of rubbing in the history of colonialism. At least, that's what I understand of it.
