i kinda wish there was a way to say "i see what you said and appreciate it" without tying it into the "likes"/"favorites" thing that places use, because at the same time those tend to encourage popularity contests / feelings of inadequacy (e.g. if post x gets y likes but post z gets < y likes, it was bad)

@Xkeeper Oh, I very much agree with this.

It's not like I use faves consistently for stuff I like either. I also use it for "I want you to know I've seen this, but I don't have anything worthwhile to say". It also depends on the person and what I'm feeling like at the time. I'm fairly certain other people do similar things.

Probably the inadequacy you're talking about, but I feel like it's eroding my trust that people will read my stuff.
