The problem affecting my PC hasn't stopped. Some process is keeping the OS drive completely busy, but isn't actually doing much with it. It was intermittent the last few days but at this point I can't get the thing to boot anymore (won't display the desktop), so it's going to be out of commision for a bit.

In the meantime I suppose I'll need to something for mastodon on my phone (suggestions welcome) and might do some drawing since I probably have less distraction.

And for everyone else: I've sent my for @TheGibson about 45 min ago. If you're curious you can have a look over at batelite.itch.io/sneepsnop2017

Back from the dentist. Time to set up the required stuff to try and send of my sneepsnop gift.

Somewhat negative I suppose

It gets a bit lonely when you feel you don't have anything useful to say about most topics or when it feels like your reply would be too late.

Last night my PC decided to slow down a bunch and then take ages to boot to what seemed like a black screen. Having left it running overnight It did show the desktop this morning. Turned out on of the drives was doing whatever at 100%. After a bit whatever process was doing stuff has stopped or at least the problem had receded for now.

So that's how I ended up backing up shit before breakfast (last one was ~7 months ago.) Not particularly fun to feel like losing my sneepsnop with a day to go.

@LilFluff @netshade @hjkl This accidentally gave me some stuff to maybe check out. Cheers!

(Pardon the repost, I messed up the first time)

I just had a thought about how it's weird that all fictional hive-minds generally still have some queen or overlord
or other building-sized entity. How about a hive-mind with no social ranking whatsoever? Just a bunch of (cute) drones wandering about contently building some giant city somewhere or something?

The only problem I can think of is when they get a phone call and the person on the other end asks for the one in charge.

Feelings, probably being naive/dumb?

Mood has dropped considerably from quite good to a bit sad after someone was being negative about themselves. It's not the first time. Empathy is wonderful and all but it shouldn't make me this chameleonic, should it?

I mostly want to help people and make them laugh. The latter seems to be going fine but I wish I knew how do the former. I don't want things to seem token or asinine and I'm terrified of making things worse.

Anyway, I'm going to bed. Take care.

I never specified much about my interests on here (this is also for my sneepsnop, in case they're struggling):

-Archiving of stuff, but haven't done much myself
-Messing about in games, seeing how they work and break. I occasionally add stuff to The Cutting Room Floor as well.
-Pretty much anything that lives, but insects/arthropods and weird sea stuff in particular.
-Music taste is diverse but largely metal(NWOBHM mostly it seems), italo disco & new wave.

Maybe I'll think of more later

The C programming language was the first to have conditional statements, which was one of many improvements over its predecessor Linear B.

About one other person will get that I think.

Game idea:
Sports game about pretty much any sport where each team has their own stadium. Rather than a tournament you conquer stadiums of your rivals, taking over the map as you win matches. Of course since you're an official club you have to keep your finances in order and running a couple dozen (empty) stadiums isn't cheap. Money comes from winning stuff, so a large empire can get bankrupted simply by losing a few times. Winner would be the last team standing.

Thanks to living in Europe it feels like barely anyone is awake until the evening.

I already have an idea for my victim that may be too ambitious.

But I just realized I've given the poor sod who has me assigned to them barely anything to go on.

I don't know that it has a name but since Gungaroo himself is pretty much a child I've nicknamed it Mumgaroo.
