don't play them nearly as often as I used to (though I can still be tempted to do a binge by something special), and I frequently commit the sin of *gasp* turning the difficulty down if I'm not having fun

Hardcore gamers are the reason we have any reluctance doing multiplayer content in FFXIV. The random party finder may put us with rude, judgemental, self-serving, angry Hardcore Gamers (though mercifully, it has not).

We're more comfortable playing with people who don't care about doing things the One True Way as dictated by the current meta, because then we have room to be slow, silly, experimental, and have fun.

@decis @slightlyflightyone@vulpine.club 100% same, tbh. The fact that there are so many people liked that makes it a tad bit difficult for me to enjoy MMORPGs due to being worried about that same exact stuff :/
