if I don't ever have to argue with someone that all games should have highly variable difficulty levels that promote accessibility, I'll be a very happy bun.

Hell for casual gamers: Difficulty will increase until morale improves.
Hell for hardcore gamers: Difficulty will decrease until morale improves. Eventually the game will just inform them they've won before they even do anything. And they'd be screaming about how they want to play the game, and the game will respond by playing more happy triumphant music with more messages of congratulation.
