green monochrome monitors were so futuristic when i was a little crow

like, you have to understand, coding in quickbasic was so exciting, we only needed 640kb of ram, and floppy disks were actually floppies

ofc, the first thing i did was to crash the computer in the most destructive way possible

i have no idea how i did it, but that cpu burned

my favorite part of that was telling people "yeh, we wrote our own software" and looking at the incredulity and laughter from people

then they saw it and were like, "uh fuck, this can't be real!?"

thinking back to my days running forums and such

...I honestly hated just about every single forum suite I've ever used, with the exception of one that @Scarly made, and I only liked that one because I dictated basically every aspect of it.

looking at the 70K grant or whatever from Samsung NEXT and can't help but see flashes of every other foss or community lead that turned out to be Into That Capitalism when the corporations call. the juxtaposition of issues around paying mods doesn't help the vibe.

sloppy joes have been slopped.

simple enough, even with homemade sauce, that it doesn't require too much in the way of spoons to make. one of my favorite low-ish effort meals.
