sometimes i wonder if i isolate myself here in the fediverse by being real and unfiltered about the black experience
probably. but, that's fine. if people don't want to know they can block me
the number of times i get "i can't believe this" in response to me in general is kinda amusing. it's like. "how could i make you believe?"
you know, you can't really be an ally without putting in the work to not immediately doubt the words of others experiences. the world is.. a different place for some.
y'all a lot of hollywood horror is actually derivative of non-USA films.
also, i wince every time i'm talking to american horror enthusiasts and they think that Ringu was made based on The Ring. No, really y'all - the japanese film came first. lol. this happened to me today, and i couldn't even convince them.
tbh, this happens to me a lot. generally, people think hollywood is a lot more original than it actually is.
honest question. why do white women feel the need to write about and talk about non-white experiences?
having a friend that is non-white is damn well not the same as being non-white.
there's a particular type of hubris that i've found in white women. they use elevated social position to speak for me and others like me that never asked or wanted them to do so.
psa - if you do this kind of thing, pls stop. if you see someone else doing it, suggest that they stop.
