I kinda wanna have an ebook reader, and it might even be in the budget for next month if I squint a bit but still, it's one of those purchases that I have a hard time justifying.
I mean, I can read books on my phone or laptop, right?
@minx it's different to reading on a phone or laptop! Less eye ouchy, longer battery life, less distraction. So if it's affordable, it is totally justifiable imo.
@maunzikation@minx This! I have an old reader with no integrated light in the screen, just e-ink. It is really much closer to reading a book instead of from a glowing screen. But even with lights it's different.
@Jules@minx yes, even the light is different than phone screen light. That said, it isn't as magical as advertising makes it out to be - it's useful in low lighting to get some more contrast, but reading in the dark is still not great imo. I use it now that I have it, but I would consider getting a reader without it to save moneys.
