Found this toot in my Home TL.
I never followed that account (and still don't) and it is not shown as a boost.

@maunzikation That kind of implements deniability/repudiation regarding boosts. Do we want that? Can be a good thing and a bad thing, depending on context. I don't think is a good thing on mastodon.
You can place stuff in home timelines and nobody will ever know that it was you who boosted all that asshole content for example.
@Jules yeah… I haven't really seen it become I problem yet, but I understand what you mean.
Those boosts ofc tend to be less than great, because they were often either accidental or someone decided when rereading that they had some shitty thing or smth.
@Jules when someone undoes a boost, the boosted toot stays in everyone's timeline, just the note that it /was/ a boost is removed.
