IMHO disallowing toot-text searching should also come with an amendment to instance Codes of Conduct to explicitly make screencapping & reposting followers-only or DM toots an offense.
these things tend to go hand in hand.

Freundliche Erinnerung: "Körperliches Geschlecht existiert nicht" bedeutet nicht "du hast keine Körperteile".
Es bedeutet "dass du Körperteil A hast (zB XY-Chromosomen) macht nicht automatisch dass du auch Körperteil B hast (zB Hoden)",

@maunzikation I have clean clothes now, so I was productive in the home department. And I wrote a mastodon bit that boosts every toot with a certain hashtag. That could be useful.
It was nice.

If text search is ever implemented, it should be limited to your home timeline/mentions only. Lack of full-text search on general content is intentional, due to negative social dynamics of it in other networks
